Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH)
MIDH is the umbrella scheme for fruit, vegetable, spice, flower, plantation and mushroom cultivation. It funds new orchards and plantations, protected cultivation such as polyhouses and shade nets, nurseries for quality planting material, beekeeping, and post-harvest handling including pack houses and cold rooms. Horticulture is often the single most effective diversification route for a farmer with a small holding, because value per acre is much higher than for grain — while also being far less forgiving of poor planting material and poor post-harvest handling, which is why the scheme funds both ends together.
What you get
Assistance towards new plantations, protected cultivation, quality planting material, beekeeping, and post-harvest handling infrastructure.
Who can apply
- Farmers, farmer groups, FPOs, cooperatives and self-help groups
- Entrepreneurs and companies for identified components such as nurseries and cold chain
- Component-wise area and cost norms apply, as notified by the state horticulture mission
How to apply
Apply through the Chhattisgarh Directorate of Horticulture or the State Horticulture Mission, which administers MIDH components in the state.
