Central government PM-KISAN

PM-KISAN (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi)

PM-KISAN pays ₹6,000 a year to eligible landholding farmer families, transferred directly to a bank account in three instalments of ₹2,000. There is no repayment and no condition on how the money is used — it is income support, intended to cover part of a season's input costs. Registration is done once, but instalments stop if e-KYC is not completed or if the Aadhaar-linked bank account details do not match, and this is the single most common reason a registered farmer stops receiving payments. Higher-income taxpayers, institutional landholders and certain categories of government pensioners and office-holders are excluded.

What you get

₹6,000 per year per eligible farmer family, paid as three instalments of ₹2,000 directly into a bank account.

Who can apply

Landholding farmer families, defined as husband, wife and minor children owning cultivable land
Excludes institutional landholders
Excludes income-tax payers in the previous assessment year
Excludes serving and retired government employees, other than Group D / Class IV staff
Excludes retired pensioners drawing a monthly pension of ₹10,000 or more
Excludes present and former constitutional post holders and elected representatives
Excludes practising professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants and architects
Aadhaar and a completed e-KYC are mandatory for instalments to continue

How to apply

Register on the PM-KISAN portal, or through a Common Service Centre or your village revenue/agriculture official. Existing beneficiaries should check e-KYC and Aadhaar-bank seeding status on the portal if payments have stopped.

Chhattisgarh farmer input assistance (state scheme)

The Chhattisgarh government runs a per-acre input assistance scheme for farmers who sell paddy through the state's registered procurement system, paid into the farmer's bank account in addition to the procurement price itself. Because state schemes are revised at each budget — and this one has been restructured and renamed more than once — we are deliberately not printing a rate here. Registration for state procurement is the gateway to this benefit, and that registration has its own annual window, so the practical action is to complete your procurement registration at the society on time. Confirm the current name, rate and conditions on the Chhattisgarh agriculture portal.
